The Role

This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual to head up and lead the development of brand new product lines from a hardware aspect within the exciting and flourishing medical device sector.

The key focus of this role is to understand and manage the hardware development within the new products including working with 3rd party companies to take the product from concept to manufacturing acting as Project/Product owner.

Individual Responsibilities

Delivery Hardware and Hardware verification and validation that meets all requirements.

Actively drive and propose methods/techniques to predict, interpret and translate customer and business needs into product specifications within the field of Hardware.

Provide honest and accurate updates to Category leaders.

Guide and coach the Category team when it comes to Hardware development issues e.g. technical solutions, internal processes, and external standards.

Build a viable and reliable supplier network to deliver the agreed Category and Franchise roadmap

Lead or participate in cross-functional development projects in all stages of the PD process, within the areas of Hardware development

Coordinate and lead temporary groups or smaller teams.

Propose and participate in the implementation of improvements in working methods and procedures in the company.

Contribute to objective evidence development which can aid in the successful delivery of medical devices.

Be R&D representative in due diligence work in Hardware areas.

Educate and train people internally on product design and R&D in order to improve the internal knowledge and competence in the company.

The Person

Will have a full understanding of electro-mechanical hardware systems within a medical device environment (transferable skill set considered) throughout the production process with keen experience of validation. A back ground in hardware within an understanding of the applications within a manufacturing.

Understanding of PCBs & Antenna/RF simulations.

Experience with C programming, and understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI & UART.

Passion for developing hardware including board and products.

Proficiency in use of Electrical test equipment.

Good knowledge of IP generation.

Interest in connectivity protocols.
