Asset Care Technician

At PepsiCo we have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Care Technician to join one of the largest Manufacturing facilities in the world. Working at our Leicester site you will be responsible for carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, covering repairs on various types of pumps, conveyors, belts, valves and pneumatics. You will also carry out routine inspections to identify and rectify issues before they become a break down. You will support process and operation modifications too, helping with continuous improvement initiatives to minimise plant downtime and reduce associated maintenance costs. The ability to work safely and within recognised food manufacturing codes and practices is essential.

Day to responsibilities include:

• Provide Engineering support for the Leicester site, ensuring that periodic and preventive maintenance plans are completed as scheduled.

• Show a proactive approach and find solutions to problems.

• Self-prioritise work schedule when necessary.

• Identify and order spares to facilitate plant efficiency.

• Communicate with Production and Engineers.

• Observe all safety procedures and follow good food manufacturing and engineering practices.

• Take ownership of engineering tasks and responsibilities.

• Supervise visits of contractors and sub-contractors.

• Flexible, can do attitude.

• Responsible for the accurate recording of Engineering data through CMMS systems, Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores and training given.

• Demonstrate a good working knowledge of mechanical maintenance systems & principles, Drive systems, Pneumatics, Rotating equipment and basic stainless-steel fabrication skills.

• Compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory and site GEHSMS requirements are met at all times in the execution of duties

• Carry out emergency problem solving and troubleshooting to support unplanned downtime improvement

• Utilise modern reliability technologies and methods to prevent and predict UPDT and to ensure the effective utilisation of production equipment and site facilities.

Pay and Benefits:

• Shift Pattern working Monday - Friday (Mon-Thurs 8.00am - 4.30pm and Fri 8.00am - 4.00pm)- Salary GBP35,932.00

Skills Required for the Role:
Time served mechanical apprentice with experience in a maintenance/FMCG environment
Recognised industry qualifications such as NVQ/C&G/HNC/HND
Experience of using CMMS (SAP/MP2)

Desirable Skills:
IPAF/PASMA/Confined Space Entry/Slinging and Lifting
