Due to an internal move a great opening has become available for a Head Chef to join a small team on our client's manufacturing site. The food offering on site is high quality fulfilling food, sustainably and ethically sourced ingredients coming alive in new and exciting recipes. Overall the kitchen would prepare up to 80 covers daily including meals for the evening shift, managed in a relatively short window of time between 7am and 3.30pm.

This role would suit a Head Chef or Chef de Partie who is ready to step up to the next level. What is important - strong leadership skills, outstanding attention to detail and a passion for delivering high quality food offer.

We offer a great team (even if we do say so ourselves), Monday to Friday sociable hours operation, salary up to GBP24k and the usual Sodexo employee benefits.

Main Responsibilities
Planning, Preparation and presentation of all meals served at the required time, adhering to the service level agreement and to the client, customer and Sodexo satisfaction
Adhering to special dietary requirements, paying particular attention to allergens
Control and monitor financial performance of the unit to pre budgeted targets
Management and training of line staff and providing coaching as necessary.
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to required standards
Ensuring completion of due diligence records in line with Food safety policies
Completion of weekly trading on Eprophit, ensuring accurate capture of all planning, production & wastage
Organisation of any hospitality catering as required, some of which may occur outside of normal working hours
Take all necessary steps to ensure maximum security of the kitchen, store, office & any other areas under Sodexo control
Actively seek & identify opportunities for business growth within the contract & external market. Manage menu development, including providing tasting sessions if required to the client.The Ideal Candidate
NVQ chef qualification or equivalent
Experience in catering management
Experience managing a team
Computer literacy
Ability to work well under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Ability to set and achieve standards and operate to performance criteria
Self-motivated
Sense of own initiative
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
