Engineering Design Manager

Due to retirement, our client a well established engineering manufacturing business, is looking to appoint an Engineering Design Manager to lead a team engaged in product development and launch of new products. You will have direct accountability for design and development and work in conjunction with NPD Project Manager. The role reports into Group Head of Engineering.

What does the ideal candidate need to have?
Essential Criteria: if you don't tick all the boxes this isn't for you.

Educated to Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or can demonstrate extensive relevant experience.
Experienced Team Manager who can lead and develop the engineering team
Strong understanding of DFM and DFA
Knows what good looks like.
Knowledge and understanding of GTD and general engineering principles
Great people skills
Loves R&D and product development
Commercially aware
Team Player

Even better if you also have any of these:
Engine component experience
AQP and PPAP knowledge
