About the Service/Department:
The Slough Domestic Abuse Floating Support Service is funded to provide high quality floating support to 20+ adults experiencing standard or medium risk abuse or who have experienced domestic abuse.
Our service users are supported to build their self-esteem and live free from abuse. Support includes accessing other services, obtaining legal remedies, referrals and sign posting to other appropriate agencies, support with housing matter etc.

Key Skills:
- Experience of working with people with a range of different support needs, aspirations for their future and associated risks.
- Experience of delivering high quality floating/outreach support services to people with a range of needs and risks.
- Good knowledge of welfare benefits and housing options and legislation related to statutory duty.
- Knowledge of health and safety relevant to role as a Floating Support Worker and working in Service User’s homes.
- An ability to undertake client-focused key working, support planning and risk assessments to maximise Service Users’ independence.
- Good understanding of the range of issues, diagnoses and treatment relevant to the client group including mental health and substance misuse.
- Commitment to equal opportunities and to promoting service users’ rights, privacy, dignity, choice and control.
- Ability to liaise with external professionals to inform and developService Users’ support package
- Willingness to actively engage in undertaking relevant personal development and training.
- Ability to travel throughout the Borough of operation.
- Previous experience of using computer based systems to accurately record work and client details
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.

About Hestia
Hestia supports adults and children in crisis across London and the surrounding regions. We campaign and advocate nationally on the issues that affect them. This includes victims of modern slavery, women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, young care leavers and older people. From giving someone a home, to helping them to get the right mental health support, we support people at the moment of crisis and enable them to build a life beyond crisis. We are supported by more than 460 volunteers who provide specialist skills such as art therapy yoga, IT, gardening, cooking as well as befriending and fundraising.
Holidays: 195 hours per year, plus 62.4 hours public holidays (full time equivalent). Our holiday year runs from April until March.

We require all staff to undertake internal and external safeguarding training throughput their employment with Hestia.
