The role
Neath Port Talbot Community Short Breaks provides support to children and young people aged between 0-18 years old with disabilities. Our sessions are aimed at providing a fun and safe environment, whilst working towards individual targets/achievements. This includes support to access community-based activities in small groups, activities at the project base or caring for a child in their own home (domiciliary care). We work in conjunction with our local authorities to provide an outcome focused service to children and young people.

As a Community Short Breaks Worker you will have direct contact with the children and young people, working within a team to provide a safe and caring environment.

You will make a difference by:

- Significantly improving young people's lives.

- Helping children and young people to reach their potential.

- Providing a safe and fun environment for disabled children and young people.

You will need:

- Full UK driving licence with business cover on insurance.

- Experience of working with children/young people with disabilities.

- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or prepared to work towards this qualification within the organisation).

- Strong Communication Skills.

- Understanding of Safeguarding.

- Ability to work in a group and team environment.

- Good report writing skills.

- Flexible and adaptable approach to your work and job.
