Job Title: Transport Coordinator
Location: Lurgan - Ireland
Shifts: Nights - 9pm - 7am (1 in 3 weekends)
Morgan McLernon - The largest operation in Northern and Southern Ireland, specialising in ambient, chilled, and frozen storage and logistics services.
We are now recruiting for a Transport Coordinator on a full time, permanent basis at our Lurgan depot
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Effectively Follow the daily plan as laid in place by the Transport Planners and Coordinators.
• Liaising with the drivers and ensuring collections are met, and the pallet counts planned are correct.
• Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments
• Optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers' hours legislation
• Re-Plan and creating new shipping's and liaising with the drivers and shipping companies with the vehicle ETAs, helping ensure that the planned trucks get the desired sailings.
• Updating customers with ETAs through the TMS (Mandata)
• Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT's, etc.
• Ensuring all accidents/incidents/near misses are logged and reported in line with company procedures
• Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc.
• Increasing staff retention and maintaining good morale, reporting any driver's issues or concerns to management. In turn, communicating any operational changes that may affect a driver's daily duties
• Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, adhering to all health & safety/safe systems of work
