Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Lab Technician to join our client based in Tamworth.
Responsibilities Include:
1. All activities should be driven to improve Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD), this includes non-production tasks. Provide leadership and champion the cause for continuous improvement in exceeding customer expectations
2. Ensure that all Company HS&E policies are respected and rules are adhered to within your department. Responsible for compliance of sub-ordinates to company health, safety & environmental policies and rules
3. To support Lean processes inc. 5s and CI activities where necessary. Support and ensure compliance with company policies & approvals, procedures and any ongoing business initiatives
4. To support and contribute effectively to your appraisal, and show a positive attitude to training and development within the team. Ensuring that all training is captured accordingly and shared with HR
5. Carry out routine Process Control analysis of chemistry
6. Report any issues with chemistry, i.e. out of specification and unusual trends as soon as possible
7. Make up stock solutions for use in analysis
8. Preparation, grinding and polishing of micro-sections both manually and automatic
9. Inspection and recording of micro-sections - release, in process, investigations
10. Complete customer reports to a high standard
11. Carry out any additional testing required by a customer or specification
12. Ensure that all testing and inspection is carried out correctly, using the correct specification, IPC, customer requirements
13. Communicate any issues with the product as soon as possible
14. Ensure action is taken on any borderline issues, e.g. copper just meeting specification
15. Work to deadlines - despatch list - couriers
16. Raise remakes as and when required
17. Raise Action requests as necessary
18. Assist with inspection / investigation / rework of customer returns / customer issues / investigations
Tasks to be performed are not limited by this job description and additional duties may be required, depending on the needs of the business.
Full training is provided for this position
Hours: Monday to Friday on a two week rotation 06:00 - 14:00 & 14:00 - 22:00.
Hourly Pay: GBP9.04
