Midlands – Opportunities in Stoke, Staffordshire, Birmingham, Nottingham, Derby and Leicester

Fostering is one of the biggest, yet most rewarding leaps of faith that any person can make, as well as your chance to make a huge difference to a child’s future.

Nothing will compare to seeing a once vulnerable child or young person develop in confidence and esteem because of your care, support and affection.

A foster carer’s role is to care for children and young people, encouraging them to achieve positive outcomes in all areas of their lives. A foster carer provides a safe and friendly home environment, enabling vulnerable young people who have faced difficultly to feel safe and supported. Working alongside a social work team, a foster carer continuously develops their skills and is committed to building brighter futures.

Fostering Requirements …. If you have………

A spare bedroom – fostering regulations state that every child should have a safe space to call their own, which is why there is a requirement for a spare bedroom. There should be enough space to provide each foster child with his or her own bedroom that is large enough to contain a single bed and furniture such as a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.

Be in good health – being in both good physical and mental health is important for becoming a foster parent, as the child’s development and growth will become the priority – and you’ll need to be in good health yourself in order to provide the child with the care and requirements they need.

Be over 21 years of age – here at Capstone, there is no upper age limit on fostering. However, in order to become a foster carer, you do need to be over the 21 years of age.

For any foster carer, your main motivation must be to help make a child’s life just that bit more comfortable and happier. To support you in your journey, we’re here at every stage of your fostering placement to provide you with all the care, support and training you may require.

If you’d like to become part of our thriving and growing family, receive regular training to a professional standard, a competitive weekly allowance per-child and 24/7 local support – where you’re never alone, we’d love to hear from you!
