About the role:

You will manage a caseload of Fast Track Portal RTA Motorcycle cases through all stages of the Portal, to include litigating to Stage 3 when appropriate.

To apply efficient claims handling, with a key focus on client care and to generate fee income for the business and to contribute to the general success of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a caseload of Fast Track Personal Injury RTA Portal Motorcycle claims, following the MOJ process, making use of the firm's Case Management Systems and using the agreed internal procedures and practices.
  • To handle inbound new claim clients notifications, take pertinent details to commence a claim, give advice and provide empathy to often badly injured clients.
  • To progress your caseload in a way to ensure that clients receive appropriate, professional, timely and balanced legal advice, with regular contact, whilst managing their expectations.
  • To identify early those cases where proceedings would be tactically beneficial to litigate.
  • To take a commercial approach to settlements but to be mindful of the firm's obligations to provide unbiased advice to clients on such matters as litigation/cost risks.
  • To achieve and exceed various targets set by the firm
  • To liaise appropriately and timely with third parties such as, medical agencies, experts, third party insurers and other relevant parties to ensure that cases are pro-actively progressed.
  • To attend, where appropriate, court hearings to make representations in respect of the claim before the judiciary. Where necessary, and in accordance with the firm's internal policies and procedures, to instruct Barristers to represent clients at hearings and obtain formal Advice over issues of quantum.
  • To perform to a high level in a target orientated environment.
  • To undertake any other tasks as deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.

About you:

  • Ideally, the successful candidate will come from a background of dealing with handling motor claims and personal injury matters but any claims handling experience, especially in civil litigation will be considered whether having worked for a solicitor, legal firm or an insurance company.
  • Previous experience of managing your own caseload of Fast Track RTA Portal claims, or hands on experience of managing tasks relating to such cases will be a distinct advantage.
  • You will be an excellent negotiator with strong communication skills.
  • You will be competent working with a case management system and have a good knowledge of MS Office and have used Outlook
  • You will have good organizational skills and a flair for attention to detail
  • You will be expected to focus on delivering quality service to clients and the firm.
