Fibre Designer QC
We are currently recruiting a Fibre Designer Quality Control (QC) for our client's expanding team in the UK. The role will ideally be based in an office in Magor or Slough. The candidate will be joining an experienced team of talented individuals with expertise across multiple engineering disciplines.
Reporting to - Fibre Design Manager/Project Manager
Role and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
* Lead & manage a team of talented fibre planning supervisors
* Overall responsibility for QC KPIs on submitted deliverables
* Oversee the production of deliverables by the fibre design teams across the areas of;
- Designs - Prelim DD Pack & DD Pack
- Optical Budgets o BOMs & BOQs
- Environmental Compliance
- H&S Best Practice
Desktop HLD surveys and report viability of customer connections
Data modelling, building map and database environments
Liaise with Fibre Technical Manager for capacity planning
Ensure project scope and guidelines are implemented consistently
Mentor and develop fibre planners
Technical support to bid & commercial team
Assess & integrate new technologies and ways of working for continual improvement
Ensure client satisfaction at all stages
Experience and Qualifications
* Engineering degree with 5+ years post graduate experience in FTTX
* Network Planning experience is essential
* Excellent computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office applications
* Experience with network design packages (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, AutoCAD, etc)
* Direct management of team members or department
* Analytical, detail oriented, high level of flexibility with willingness to learn/develop
* Strong administration/documentation background
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Ability to multi-task in a structure format
* Strong interpersonal skills in both oral and written communication
* Excellent written and spoken English required
