As a Reception Supervisor you will be the lead person providing support, guidance and the teacher of good practice skills to all non-clinical staff, ensuring the smooth running of the non-clinical team.

The post holder will:

Assist the Business Manager in various administrative tasks
Provide induction training of all new staff to agreed standards
Ensure practice policies are followed and accurate records are kept with particular reference to: appointments, visits, queries, patient registration, repeat prescriptions, filing systems, notification of births and deaths.
Liaise with Business Manager concerning staffing and organisation of work.
Performance monitoring of non-clinical staff and reporting to Business Manager on a weekly basis.
Monitor the appointment template on a weekly basis ensuring all clinics are correct and adequate number of apps available.
Ensure adequate staffing levels
Management of Prescription Requests
Work with clinicians to ensure that requests for repeat prescriptions are managed appropriately
Be able to perform all Patient Navigator's duties
Be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors.
Provide general assistance to the clinical team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Complete the Surgery Administration, including registrations and deductions
Ensure that the practice is welcoming, safe and tidy
Deal with more complex enquiries from patients and outside agencies.
Arrange staff weekend and bank holiday rota (where applicable); organising cover for holidays, sickness and compassionate leave
Ensure communication channel for patients/the public are kept up to date and accurate

Therefore, the successful candidate must:

* have GP practice experience

* have prior experience as patient navigator

* desirably have prior team leading experience

* have good organisation and communication skills

* have good time-management skills and extraordinary attention to details

* work accurately and methodically

* be able to work with all types of people

* have a good level of IT skills

* be friendly and welcoming; patient and understanding

* be confident using the phone
