JOB DESCRIPTION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Process, Control, Materials Handling, Conveying : Powders
You will be tasked with providing a complete design solution - cradle to grave responsibility (from a design perspective) for projects from initial consultation with the client through to design, manufacture, installation and commissioning. You will also provide sales support / technical consultation on the initial enquiry.
Managing typically manage one to two live projects at a time you will also be responsible for relationship building with internal / external customers and sub contractors. This will include sourcing products, negotiating 3rd party suppliers and the preparation of quotations maintain margins.
These responsibilities will develop as you become more experienced, working very closely with the current Technical Director.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Process, Control, Materials Handling, Conveying : Powders
You will be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a background of designing some sort of industrial equipment. We are particularly interested in people with experience of designing materials handling solutions. The bullseye would be someone who has worked with transporting powders.
Any experience of managing projects including customer liaison would be an advantage.
You must be personable and happy managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders / sub-contractors. You will also be able to provide technical support in sales meetings. Not to close deals, but be able to present the solutions in a clear and concise fashion in a commercial setting.
You will have the desire and ability to develop into more of an operational role as Technical Director designate.
