Python Software Engineer - Bristol 2 days a week next year, when government restrictions allow.

Would you like to work on something which will support millions of children around the UK?

We have been working with this truly lovely company for the past year and they have stayed strong over the past 6 months, hired, grown and supported key workers. They are now continuing to grow their business within the education sector where their online subscription model for school leaders and governors have been needed more than ever and has seen huge success.

They are a business of around 70 people who are spread across 3 UK locations. There has been some internal promotions which has left a spot for a Senior Engineer to join the team.

What you'll be up to:

Create and maintain features using Python, Javascript, HTML and CSS
As a Senior Engineer you will be mentoring/leading a small team of Engineers
Develop close working relationships across teams
Adopt their truly agile approach to software delivery
Troubleshoot issues proactively proposing solutions and improvements
Stay up to date with emerging technologies, applying to existing solutions where appropriate
Before I tell you what they would like your experience to look like. If you don't tick all of these please don't let that put you off applying, we have hired people who are self taught, career changers and also ones who may have experience with a different framework for example but with the willingness to jump into some new tech. :)

- Experience with Python and JavaScript
- One/some of experience with Django, Wagtail, Vue.JS, React, Webpack, Node.js, Docker.
- Experience with SQL
- Experience using source control tools
- Any testing experience would be grand too.

Bens inc: Annual Bonus, a generous holiday allowance, which increases up to 28 days a year + bank hols after 3 years of service. Matched pension of 5%, flexible working, buy and sell holiday, free eye tests, annual flu jab, life assurance, plus more!

Covid-19 update: They are a bit gutted they had to close the office again recently and have decided to remain closed for the remainder of the year, and whilst they would like to see you in the office in 2021 they are flexible with this and taking things on a case by case basis. Ideally you'll be able to come in 2 days a week - more if you would like. All interviews and on-boarding have successfully been done remotely.

Sound good right? Please send your CV for immediate consideration.

Thanks, Alicia
