Infrastructure Systems Engineer
Linux, Python, Ansible, CI/CD, Containerisation // Up to GBP50,000 // Stoke

You will be joining a tech orientated company whose software solution boasts nearly 40 million users. Having a nationally recognised technical team, you will be part of a talented team which constantly strives for more from themselves and their software.
Working on open source platforms and services, this role will vary from development, specialist support, improvements and lifecycle management. A key element to this role is liaising closely with other technical teams to advocate the use of our open-source technologies with our core values at heart.
A key focus of this role will be to think critically about our future technology challenges and identify innovative ideas to overcome such hurdles. We are a collaborative organisation who prioritse cross-functional expertise, so a background in software development will be highly beneficial.
As part of the Software Development Team you will have the opportunity to:
Work closely with Infrastructure, Development and DevOps teams
Identifying areas for improvement when maximising future technology investments
Complete selected software tasks to ensure the successful completion of the SDLC
Recognise opportunities for automation and implement through continuous improvement
Maintain ongoing support to open source platforms and services
Core Tools we are currently using:
Linux
Automation Tools - Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform
Python
Go
Containerisation Tools - Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift
Git
While there is no set recipe for success, we find that you will tend to have the following attributes:
Degree level qualification within a technology based subject
A solid understand of and experience using Linux
High level understanding and use of Python or Go
Previous experience within automation and infrastructure environments
A software development background
You have demonstrated experience in large-scale, fast-paced organisations
