HSE Manager role on a 3-6 Month Fixed Term Contract. Working for a growing manufacturing company in the Wirral.

Our client is a growing manufacturing company based in the Wirral.
Description
The role holder will act as the Site lead for all Health, Safety and Environment matters and is an integral member of the leadership team. The individual is responsible for maintaining and improving HSE management systems and driving adherence to external as well as internal standards.
The role has the responsibility for defining & guiding the HSE improvement strategy of the site as well as execution of improvement projects and activities. The individual will be the subject matter expert of all HSE topics and will work closely with operational teams to achieve world class safety performance. The role holder will be a proven completer-finisher and self-starter capable of leading direct and indirect reports, influencing behaviours and delivering results
Profile
A recognised and relevant qualification in a safety, business or technical discipline would be preferred, with a proven track record leading a safety / HSE function operating in a technically regulated industry within manufacturing.
The role holder will, as a minimum, hold the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
The role holder will have prior exposure to ISO14001 & ISO 18001 environmental & occupational standards and, ideally, be a qualified auditor to these standards.
The role holder will be able to demonstrate knowledge of UK / EU safety legislation applied under HASAWA and understand current practices in topics such as machinery guarding, PUWER, CE marking standards, COSHH, DSEAR etc.
The role holder will be able to demonstrate experience of working with formal Management of Change systems (MOC) to reduce safety and operational risks.
Formal experience in Process Safety Management techniques is an advantage for the role.
The applicant should, ideally, be able to demonstrate experience in application of behavioural safety management systems/safety culture development within a workforce.
Extensive recent manufacturing experience in a health, safety & environmental management or supervisory role.Job Offer
