Propel your career to the next level as an experienced Nurse from the NHS or private care, where you'll join the team at Thornford Park's Male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as a Senior Mental Health Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse to support men who are experience acute mental health conditions.

What you will be doing

As an experienced qualified RMN or RNLD nurse you will ensure our male patients with mental health conditions receive high-quality care, while also supporting your colleagues and promote good teamwork.

No two days are the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine.

Things that you will have:

A relevant nursing qualification and registration
18-months experience as a Registered Nurse
Strong team-working skills
A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach

The service operates 24/7. You will work shift patterns including weekends, bank holidays and nights. Standard shifts are 12 hours a day, working 3 days one week, 4 days the next.

Where you will be working

Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET

You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/ complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements

Annual salary of up to GBP30,001 + GBP3,200 for forensic allowance & location allowance
