Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Manager

Hull College Group is one of the largest further and higher education colleges in the country.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Manager (HSW&E) to join us.

In the role you will advise the management and internal college departments on the development, implementation and management of HSWE strategies, policies and procedure; advising and supporting the estates management with regards to statutory compliance, providing staff training and CPD opportunities for team members and ensuring facilities are operated in a safe and efficient manner by undertaking regular audits and inspections.

Advising on the HSW&E aspects of all projects and reviewing contractor and third party documentation to ensure the safe operation of all works, you will act as representative for all construction work on the estate.

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years’ experience in a previous H&S Management role to promote a positive culture within the Estates team. You must have at least NEBOSH and be working towards a Diploma (or willing to undertake) in H&S Management. You will be an advocate of best practice in H&S across all activities, in relation to staff, students, visitors and contractors.

This is a diverse role and requires well developed skills and knowledge in a number of areas. The successful candidate will be confident in reviewing strategy and identifying areas for improvement, experienced in working with estates and non-estates professionals providing advice, guidance, training and support and will work closely with maintenance, facilities and construction professionals to ensure all H&S requirements are carried out.
