Support Worker

We are recruiting for Residential Support Worker's to join our family.

As a residential support worker you will be a key member of our children's home team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our young people throughout their day-to-day life. You must be approachable and able to communicate with children of all ages.

Because we want you to get off to the best start with us, we are giving you GBP250 when you first start with us, and then when you are settled in in 6 months' time we will give you an extra GBP250 for your hard work.

Moorfield House and Moor Farm Cottage are semi rural Children's Home on the outskirts of Temple Normanton village and Calow near Chesterfield. We care for up to 8 young people aged 9 - 16 years of age who exhibit behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.

Moor Farm Cottage/Moorfield House replicates a caring, family environment that provides the opportunities that will hopefully one day help our young people to lead positive and rewarding lives.

The successful candidate will be required to build good relationships with both young people and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible..

This is a physically demanding role, you must have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our employees to share in this commitment.

Successful applicants must ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour, however if you have the right personality we will support you to gain and develop the experience you need.

Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. As a residential support worker you must be flexible as the home uses a rota comprising of early and late shifts covering weekdays and weekends. This role does not require any contractual 'sleep-in' duties but may be occasionally asked to cover sleep in.
