We are looking to appoint an experienced Security Officer for a company based in Northumberland.
Requirements:
You will have experience working in the security industry on an industrial type site (non negotiable).
Must be able to work shifts. Shifts are 12 hours and as follows:
2 days (6am to 6pm) 2 nights (6pm to 6am) followed by 4 days off.
This pattern is based over 265 days per year.
These shifts are non-negotiable and access to your own transport is advantageous.
You will have excellent communication and basic IT skills.
Duties will involve:
Monitoring and authorising entrance and departure of visitors and contractors and ensure there are no breaches of SPSL security or HSE policies and procedures.
Answer telephone calls, take messages, deal with questions and provide information during non-business hours or when the switchboard is closed.
Inspect and direct motor vehicles to specified locations for the delivery of goods and materials. Advise the recipient of the delivery.
In the event of an emergency / incident the Security Officer will carry out the duties as described in the "On Site Emergency Plan" and relevant SOP(s)
Maintain accurate records of visitor logs and incident logs.
Conduct effective shift handovers
Inspect and adjust security systems and equipment to ensure it is operational and there is no evidence of misuse or tampering.
Conduct searches of persons, belongings and vehicles in a polite and professional manner complying with the relevant SPSL procedure.
Comply with all HSE requirements, safety policies and procedures, and the use of appropriate PPE when necessary.
Uphold company HSE standards ensuring all visitors are well briefed on all HSE requirements including safety policies and procedures, sources of ignition and smoking policy
Participate in workplace inspections, audits and investigations as required
