About the role


They are currently seeking a Resettlement Worker to provide intensive housing and support services including resettlement into the community to vulnerable women and their children who have fled domestic abuse and are now residing in the women's refuge service. The aim of this role is to intervene at times of crisis, promote independence and empower victims to move on from an abusive relationship and resettle into the community.


Your main responsibilities will include:

Resettling individuals into the community

Participating in the assessment of service-user needs, and setting up the agreement of support

Welcoming service-users to their new accommodation as required

Developing and maintaining open and honest relationships with service users

Understanding and responding appropriately to the experiences and particular needs of the service-users through acting as a keyworker

Enabling the service users to develop or maintain a sense of achievement and fulfilment, assisting in the development of life skills and encouraging a wide range of activities including involvement in the local community

Recognising and responding appropriately to any abuse and neglect



About you


The ideal candidate will have:

Experience of working with a designated service user group, ideally within supported housing

A good understanding of the principles of practice in working with vulnerable people

NVQ Level II or III in Health and social care

Knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on victims and their families

Knowledge of the benefits system and children's services

Good problem solving skills

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

This role requires a full drivers licence and access to a car

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS
