Samuel Frank Associates is now recruiting for an Automation Service Engineer with a strong background in PLC software and SCADA Systems combined with previous experience of servicing/ upgrading process systems for either food production & packaging or pharmaceutical production & packaging. A background in process industries such as water, dairy, pharma, food & beverage will be very useful for this opportunity.

The successful Automation Service Engineer will also be involved in site based corrective and predictive maintenance as well as troubleshooting/servicing on a wide range of equipment.

Key aspects to the Automation Sevice Engineer position include -

• Role is home based - you'll spend your time either in the office in the North West, at home or onsite across the UK - so you're location requirements will need to flexible.
• You need to be able to program changes/modifications to Rockwellor Siemens PLCs on existing equipment and lines
• You'll be able to read SCADA code and fault find/make changes
• You'll need previous experience of being a travelling Site/Service Engineer - this isn't an office based software writing all the time type role!
• Involvement in industrial networking - Modbus, ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Ethernet, DeviceNet
• Out of hours support for customers - on-call allowance paid

Your technical qualifications will be in Software, Electric and/or Electronic Engineering and you will have developed specific competences in automation including; HMI interfacing, operator panels, PLC programming ( Rockwell / Allen Bradley) and fault finding and Electrical Engineering having good knowledge on electrical panels, MCC, process instrumentation and electrical installation, mainly oriented to troubleshooting and fault finding.
