IT Support Technician
Location: Near East Grinstead & Crawley, West Sussex/Surrey
Full time, permanent
Salary: Up to £24k per annum

This an exceptional opportunity to work at one of the UK’s leading and most prestigious independent schools. As an IT Support Technician, you will deliver and support ICT services throughout, providing staff, pupils and other stakeholders with an outstanding ICT experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure staff, pupils, parents and all stakeholders receive exceptional IT services and support
- Deal enthusiastically and promptly with requests and issues
- Assist with maintaining IT systems to the highest standard, ensuring their security and availability are optimised
- Liaise with 3rd line support to resolve issues that require escalation
- Provide support for the operation of audio-visual services and systems at the school
- Work under the direction of the Senior IT Support Engineer
Skills and Experience
- A Levels or other relevant qualifications
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a user-facing ICT support role
- Experience of using an IT helpdesk system
- Experience of working with and supporting a range of technologies, for example:
- Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2019
- Microsoft Server & Microsoft Active Directory
- Cloud technologies, including Office 365
- Wired and wireless networks, firewalls and internet content filters
- PCs, Laptops, mobile devices and audio-visual systems
- Apple Macs and iPads
- Printers and copiers

You will be a technology enthusiast who is good with people and enjoys solving problems. You will be able to work both under direction and on your own initiative, prioritising jobs as required. You will be service focussed and maintain a positive and approachable outlook. You will be enthusiastic and proactive, finding ways to improve the services provided in addition to fixing problems that occur. You will be keen to learn and gain experience with new technologies and their use in an education environment.
The Organisation
The school at which this role is based is an independent, fully co-educational day school with over 900 boys and girls aged from 2 to 18. It combines tradition and innovation to give academic excellence. It is situated within 40 acres of attractive grounds, overlooking Surrey's greenest countryside. It borders the three counties of Surrey, Sussex and Kent.
The school has invested significantly in IT systems and facilities, utilising the latest Microsoft, DellEMC and Ruckus server and network technology as well as having embraced Microsoft Office365 and Microsoft Teams. They use state of the art firewalls and cyber-security systems, including Cisco firewalls, iBoss web filter, Impero monitoring and Splunk SIEM. Other systems in use include VMware, Veeam Backup and Recovery, Sophos Anti-Virus, 3CX VoIP telephony, PRTG network monitoring, Bodet bell and alert system and modern HD CCTV among others.
