Body Repair Paint Preparation Specialist

Tesla is looking for a Body Shop Paint Prep Specialist to work on one of the most progressive, innovative high end vehicle cars in the world. This position will involve supporting the Body Repair Business in all their aspects.

Responsibilities

?? Remove grease, dirt, paint, or debris from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters, while keeping all safety requirements and regulations as first priority. Assist painter in pre-paint blending needs.

• Prepare pre painted parts/cars in order to keep the workflow fluently.
• Work with the painters to assist in keeping vehicle on track for scheduled delivery time.
• Detail vehicles ready for delivery to customers and or painted parts for the end user.
• Buff and wax the finished paintwork if required.
• Inspect, judge delivered work as a whole according Tesla's quality standards.
• Respect and obey environmental regulations, requirements and laws at all times.
• Respect and obey EHS regulations at all times.
• Repair and or replace parts/cars according Tesla's repair manuals and quality standards.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties, while keeping all safety requirements and regulations as first priority.
• Maintain hand tooling on a daily base.
• Maintain all other tooling used on a daily base.
• Use required and appropriate PPE for duty to fulfill.
• Supporting other teams when needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience with vehicle paint processes.
• Technical automotive background preferred.

• Base HV knowledge required.
• Understand and the ability to interpret lean and efficient workflows.
• Process minded thinking required.
• Ability to receive directions and collaborate with others within the team and also from outside the team.
• Team spirit mindset.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 kg.
• Must have a valid and clean driver's license.
• Must be flexible when business requires. I.e. overtime, weekend work to achieve goals and or deadlines.
