3-6mth FTC
Salary circa GBP35k, negotiable

The Opportunity
We are looking to hire 3 Technical Authors to come on board with our client, who are a Medical Device Manufacturer based in Basingstoke.
The R&D Department are looking to bring their Instruction for User guides up to date and to also bring them in line with a new law that is being implemented in 2021. As such the guides are already 75% created, so just need completing.
The roles are on a 3-6month Fixed Term Contract basis to ensure completion of a project and have targeted complete date by the end of 2020, but may this may increase to 6 months if required.
We are open to your location, as long as you are potentially available to come to site from time to time to meet with the Product Manager
Key tasks
Providing clear and concise technical information in the form of user guides, instructions for use and clinician's manuals
Maintaining issue-controlled documents in accordance with the Medical Device Regulation
Maintaining a consistent corporate image
Working with external suppliers such as translators and reviewers
Your background
We are really looking for someone to hit the ground running, so you will have;
Prior experience of Technical Authorship
Prior experience and good knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator)
Having your own access to Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator) would be advantageous
An aptitude for dealing with images within technical documentation over CAD, Solidworks, Composer
An understanding of global English
Prior experience working with external translation houses (Desirable)
Can start ASAP
