This Company owns an investment portfolio of commercial property with a current value in excess of GBP200m and is expanding. The mixed portfolio is comprised of a wide range of retail, office and industrial properties located throughout the UK. These properties range from individual buildings to Industrial Estates and shopping centres.
An Rating Specialist/Administrator is required to work between the property and management accounts team.
Role Responsibilities include:
• Identify and control Business Rates liability on a variety of commercial properties including offices, industrial and retail units
• Liaise with Estate Managers on vacant properties liable for Business Rates
• Correspond with local authorities via letter, email and telephone to update on occupants and vacant units
• Update property database
• Create notifications for planned management
• Conduct regular updates with the appropriate local authorities
• Check invoices are correct and sign off accordingly
• Contact local authorities in relation to invoice amendments
• Produce an annual budget and compare 'actual to budget' income expenditure
• Challenge any disputed invoices
• Set up payment plans with local authorities
• Liaise with external consultants and appeal and reduce rateable values
• Check VOA website for rateable values
• Liaise with charities and external consultants to arrange temporary occupation of units
• Filing
• Complete VOA request for information forms
The succesful candidate, is likely to have previous rating and or property administrator experience, and with an ability to work in a faced paced property company, excellent career prospect with this expanding company
