Head Fleet Mechanic

Are you a mechanic with strong HGV maintenance experience? Have you worked on vehicles ranging from 7.5 ton lorry's to 44 ton bulkers?

Bio Collectors are seeking an experienced head mechanic to oversee and conduct all aspects of fleet maintenance at our company depot in Mitcham.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for planning and carrying out regular Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) on our range of HGV and vehicles in order to minimise any unnecessary down time/VOR and ensure all vehicles are kept to the required standard. This will include conducting repair work in-house as required and completion of any relevant compliance/record paperwork.

Duties will also include, but are not limited to:

• Electronic Diagnostic work on vehicles
• Minor Welding
• Tyre Fitting
• Attending on-road breakdowns and repairs/call-out's
• Organisation and oversight of on-site workshop
• Ordering of parts as required

Job Type / Category

Hours:

Monday - Friday: 10 Hours/day - some flexibility on starting time, TBD with applicants.

Saturday: 7am -1pm

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Skill Required:

• Knowledge/Experience of electronic diagnostic fault finding
• Organised and methodical approach to maintenance schedules and compliance paperwork
• Experience working on a range of HGV and commercial vehicles
• Motivated and able to work alone
• Valid HGV Driving Licence
• Good spoken English

Benefits

Holiday allowance: 20 Days in first year + Bank Holidays. Increases after first year.
