Cult Pens is a growing business and part of the WH Smith Group.

We're an online retailer with an outstanding reputation for providing the best possible service to our customers. We are currently looking for a Buyer to take responsibility for all buying activity across the business.

This includes the management and development of the Cult Pens extensive product range (over 22k lines and counting), working closely with existing suppliers and adding new brands to ensure we have a comprehensive and market leading range.

Using your considerable buying experience and passion for all things pens, pencils and stationery you will ensure continuous improvement of the range from existing suppliers, focusing on being first to market on key new lines, and you will seek out new brands and products to fill range gaps and anticipated future demand using your market knowledge and insights. You will develop, and identify opportunities to improve upon, supplier terms to ensure strong promotional and incomes support ongoing.

Tasks include:

?? Build and develop range expansion strategy in conjunction with Business Founders, Head of Commercial and WHS - and deliver on agreed roadmap as required

?? Continuous proposition review of the existing range versus competitors and the market, working collaboratively with internal teams to prioritise and realise identified opportunities

?? Review supplier relationships and terms - restructure where required, build on further income opportunities and negotiate great deals on products, pricing and offers that deliver sales and margin improvements for the business

?? Working with internal teams and suppliers to ensure optimised and efficient processes to get new brands, ranges and products live on site as quickly as possible

?? Continuously review the market, competitors and influencers to identify and size new trends in all relevant categories, working with suppliers to build ranges and test products in a low risk way for the business

Key attributes:

?? 5+ Years Buying experience

?? Ideally 3+ years relevant category experience OR a personal passion for the product/category

?? Planning and organising skills

?? Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills

?? Ability to multi-task

?? Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

?? Attention to detail and accuracy

?? Good standard of numeracy

?? Good standard of IT skills

?? Ability to remain calm under pressure

?? Problem solving and decision making

?? Initiative
