The key duties and accountabilities of the Volunteer Coordinator are as follows:

1. To support the delivery of Catch22's CSE and Missing Services in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

2. To recruit volunteer mentors, undertaking risk assessments, providing induction training, supervision and support, and embedding good practice in the delivery model.

3. To ensure that appropriate safeguarding checks are made for all volunteers entering the service namely Enhanced level DBS and reference checks.

4. To participate in the development and delivery of an engaging Catch22 induction programme for volunteers, which educates them in relation to the volunteer roles, professional practice, standards and expectations.

5. To communicate regularly with the Service team and other agencies to ensure that volunteers are placed appropriately to support the young person, the Catch22 Service and the volunteer's own development.

6. Where safeguarding concerns are identified, to respond appropriately by supporting the volunteer, the child and their family and referring the information formal to Children's Social Care in accordance with the requirements of Catch22's safeguarding policy and guidance

7. To offer regular supervision and support to volunteers which is of a high quality and meets Catch22 standards

8. To ensure that volunteer mentors are trained in and able to complete to a high standard all required paperwork detailing their contact with children and families.

9. To ensure records of involvement with children and young people are appropriately kept in accordance with GDPR and Catch22's monitoring and recording standards and requirements.

10. To attend any meetings or training agreed with the manager and to represent the service effectively and professionally.

11. To build and maintain community networks with other providers and work in partnership with other local agencies and services, supporting families in order to maximise resources to support them at a universal level. This includes recruiting volunteers and delivering recruitment events to ensure a minimum bank of mentors is retained.

12. To work in partnership with children and their siblings and parents/carers, promoting their involvement and ownership in planning service delivery which meets identified needs.

13. To maintain appropriate case management records and to assist in the provision of regular written case studies/reports to evidence outcomes and progress to funders and management.

14. To ensure that protocols regarding child protection, confidentiality, equality of opportunity and risk management are maintained at all times.

15. To take strategic actions to resolve situations and learn from challenging experiences.

16. To keep personal development needs under review, keep informed of current issues and be alert to the partnership's training programme and policies.

17. To safeguard the Health and Safety of all persons and premises under your control and in accordance with the guidance and provisions of Health and Safety Legislation, and Authority and Departmental Codes of Practice and Procedures.

18. To work flexibly to meet the needs of volunteers, children and their families. This will include travel and occasional working in the evenings and at weekends.

19. To undertake on-call duties as required by the service.

20. To attend regular supervision and appraisal sessions for continued personal and professional development and to identify strengths and weaknesses, planning accordingly to enable duties to be carried out effectively.

21. To promote and embed Catch22's visions and values in local service delivery.

22. To act as an ambassador for Catch22, upholding and promoting our corporate values.

23. To carry out all other relevant duties as may be required and as are commensurate with the nature and level of the post.
