Role Description:
Fitzpatrick Referrals is a world renowned veterinary referral centre based in Surrey, UK, an area of outstanding natural beauty and within easy reach of both the south coast and the vibrancy of London. It has a specialist orthopaedic and neurology centre in Eashing and a specialist oncology and soft tissue hospital in Guildford.

We are committed to providing the highest standards of patient care and are now seeking an additional anaesthetist to join our team and contribute to our continued success and development.

Both centres provide an interesting and varied caseload and involves interaction with diplomate level specialists in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, neurology, oncology and diagnostic imaging to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. With an outstanding team of people our clinics contain the latest facilities and equipment expected of an advanced referral practice.

You will join our expanding team and provide anaesthesia service to secondary and tertiary referral cases, in addition assist in the training of veterinary anaesthesia to residents, interns and veterinary nurses.

The successful candidate will have in-depth experience in the treatment of critical care patients.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

Anaesthesia service
•Deliver an effective, efficient and integrated anaesthetist service to meet our four outcomes - clinical
care, client satisfaction, financial resolution and team harmony
•Work with the wider practice team to contribute your skills, efforts and personal strengths to help ensure a
harmonious team ethos at all times and develop services at the practice
•Provide an effective anaesthesia service secondary and tertiary referral cases
•Assist with the training of veterinary anaesthesia to residents, interns and veterinary nurses including practical instruction and demonstrations

•Assist with the management and care of emergency and critical patients
•Communicate with floor coordinators on resources and timings of cases going into theatre, imaging and
recovery
•Maintains records

Additional duties
•Participate in CPD programmes
•Represent and promote the practice, its aims and values
•You may be required to carry out such other duties consistent with your position to meet the needs of the
Practice and as the Practice may from time to time require

Requirements

Essential
•In-depth experience in the treatment of critical care patients
•Board eligible (ACVA or ECVAA)
•MRCVS or hold a veterinary degree registrable with the RCVS
