SThree's Technology department are seeking a Security Architect to join our office based in Glasgow. If you can demonstrate experience of creating and designing security for a system or service, then you could be the Security Architect we're looking for.

What will you be doing?

The Security Architect will maintain security documentation and develop architecture patterns and security approaches to new technologies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Recommending security controls and identify solutions that support a business objective
Provide specialist advice and recommend approaches across teams and various stakeholders
Communicating widely with other stakeholders
Advising on important security-related technologies and assess the risk associated with proposed changes
Inspiring and influencing others to execute security principles
Defining the current & future security architecture state
Defining the vision, strategy and principles for security
Data elements of project and programme solution designs, participating in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment into various environments
Capturing and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solutions architect community
Ensuring that all projects meet the compliance with Architectural Principles and champion the benefits the Architecture and the and team can bring to the company

What skills/experience should you have?

Analysis - You can apply the approach to real problems and consider all relevant information. You can apply appropriate rigor to ensure a full solution is designed and achieves the business outcome.
Design secure systems - You can design and review system architectures through the application of patterns and principles.
Enabling and informing risk-based decisions - You work with risk owners to advise and give feedback. You can advise on risk impact and whether this is within risk tolerance. You can describe different risk methodologies and how these are applied, as well as the proportionality of risk.
Specific security technology and understanding - You have knowledge of system architectures. You can understand and articulate the impact of vulnerabilities on existing and future designs and systems, and can articulate a response. You have broad knowledge of a range of systems but may specialise in one.
Understanding security implications of transformation - You can interpret and apply understanding of policy and process, business architecture, and legal and political implications in order to assist the development of technical solutions or controls.
Communication skills - You have a deep understanding and can apply security concepts to a technical level. You can effectively translate and accurately communicate security and risk implications across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and able to respond to challenge. You can manage stakeholder's expectations and be flexible, adapting to stakeholder's reactions to reach consensus.
