Electrical Engineer
An opportunity has arisen for us to recruit for a worldwide leader in raw material manufacturer. We are currently looking for a Electrical Team Leader to join the team, at their site in Corby. This postition is on a continental shift pattern.
The Role
As the Electrical Team Leader, you will work as part of a team, reporting directly into the Electrical Services Engineering Manager, providing technical engineering expertise to the Corby site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to ensure the safe production of quality tubes and the achievement of equipment availability and capability targets. In this capacity, you will also manage the daily operations of the Systems department supporting the team leader to ensure that systems are maintained in accordance with standards and policies.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:
Responsible for ensuring that engineering activities are conducted in accordance with the Engineering policy; health & Safety standards; statutory regulations and applicable ISO standards and Codes of Practice.
Actively manage engineering expenditure and develop budgets.
Responsible for the management and execution of all preventive, corrective, breakdown and shutdown maintenance controlled by the central electrical function, as per the SAP Business processes.
Ensure that all assets within the designated areas of responsibility are maintained to high engineering standards, which consistently contribute to achieving business objectives.
Identify and implement improvement activities that support the continuous improvement of plant availability, safety, the environment and asset performance.
Lead or participate in project teams, executing engineering projects to the allocated budget, timescale and stated objectives.
Responsible for the management of spares, including repairable stock items (as per the SAP Refurbishment of Spares Business Process).
Management of both external and internal engineering resources, including technical supervision, training and competency development.
To set, implement and maintain standards for equipment controlled by the systems department.
To manage overtime and sickness absence for members of the Systems department.
Respond to the works alarm systems and provide solutions for plant and engineering safety
The Candidate
To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a qualified electrical engineer (or equivalent by experience), ideally qualified to HNC level as a minimum, with man management experience of working within a manufacturing environment.
You will also require the following:
Experience with low voltage & high voltage electrical systems, drives, PLCs and Environmental control systems.
Competent at fault-finding electrical systems and root cause failure analysis of electrical engineering related failures as required.
Experience of working with computerised maintenance management systems (SAP PM experience would be advantageous)
Basic computer literacy is essential.
Good communication skill and the ability to function effectively within teams.
