Job description:

If this is you, our Environmental & Quality Engineer vacancy based from our Oakenholt Paper Mill in Flint may be your next career move. Our Oakenholt Paper Mill manufactures tissue products for use in the professional hygiene sector, with our leading professional hygiene brand being TORK.

About The Role In this role you will provide the site with specialist environmental knowledge and expert advice to fulfill all legal obligations to ensure compliance with local and European laws and our company sustainability strategy.
You will lead on internal audits and ensure effective handling of any complaints. With significant assets on site, including a reservoir this is a key role on site.

What You Will Do Day to day you will;

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legislative requirements around safety, quality and the environment
  • Identify important, emerging environmental trends and ensure that the Site are equipped to deal effectively deal with them
  • Provide assurance of legal compliance in quality matters
  • Keep the specifications for material and product / article specifications updated
  • Write, communicate and train on the Site's environmental policies
  • Develop standards for Quality measurements in the Laboratory and in production
  • Support continuous improvement in line with business needs
  • Report consumer complaints and Quality KPI's to Site, Unit and Production
  • Identify and make available quality improvements and perform quality benchmarks internally and with other factories.
  • Support broader engineering and technical teams in the impact on improvements in Quality issues

Required profile:

Who You Are We would love to hear from you if you have;

  • Proven experience in an environmental / quality role in an industrial setting
  • Experience within the FMCG sector
  • Proven data analysis skills combined with strong presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to both constructively challenge and influence
  • The ability to react quickly under pressure
  • A passion for coaching and guiding others to deliver improved results
  • A degree level qualification (desirable)
  • Knowledge of ISO standards (desirable)
  • Auditing knowledge and experience (desirable)
  • NEBOSH environmental certificate (desirable)
