About the role

Purpose

You will work within the Category Development and Consumer Insight team to develop and manage sources of ad hoc and continuous insight data, to drive insights from consumer, category, market and shopper research. You will deliver timely and accurate insights to provide understanding of consumer issues, category, market and shopper behaviour, thereby maximising the effectiveness of the marketing and sales teams.

Role details

Reporting into the Senior Insights Manager, you will:

  • Have a track record of delivering timely and accurate strategic insight and making actionable recommendations in an analytical role, to help inform business decisions and create long term and annual plans
  • Have an insatiable curiosity about the consumer, seeking to understand consumer behaviour in order to bring the consumer to the heart of the business
  • Be aware of current market activities and trends, carrying out analysis to explain market developments and changes in consumer behaviours and attitudes
  • Have experience of working in partnership with relevant stakeholder teams (Brand Marketing, Category Insights) to understand their objectives and challenges, ensuring insight is actionable
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to draw on a variety of data sources and tools, combining multiple insight sources to deliver a holistic and accurate view of consumer and shopper behaviour
  • Be able to ensure analysis has relevant, tangible and actionable recommendations
  • Balance quick queries with larger analytical pieces, adapting to changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Accountabilities
  • Support the Senior Insights Manager in design and delivery of the Insights Vision, with a focus on helping the brand team deliver on their goals
  • Utilise the full suite of insight sources and methodologies to deliver consumer understanding and identify key risks and opportunities to our business
  • Influence both internal and external stakeholders through insight
  • Develop critical consumer insight and business questions with the brand teams to stimulate relevant research
  • Internal Reporting and Analysis

    Other accountabilities include
  • Project work - specific responsibilities as determined by the Senior Insights Manager and be key point of contact for specific key brands
  • Insight and analysis - able to collect and shape insight into compelling consumer-centred data and stories.
  • Build and Own research agency relationships - demonstrate deep understanding of state of the art research methodologies, extracting maximum value and insight from research
Essential knowledge and skills are
  • Communications and influencing - present and persuade in both written and verbal forms to internal and external stakeholders
  • Cross functional team working - demonstrate the ability to build relationships and work as part of a team to achieve shared team and company goals
  • Planning, project management and organisational skills - develop and maintain reports, spreadsheets and presentations to meet AW insight objectives. Develop clear project briefs and manage agencies to deliver specified outcomes.
  • Commercial acumen - has a clear understanding of the impact of actions on revenue and profit
  • Creative problem solver- demonstrates an openness to new ideas and others perspective or views specifically from broader business and peers
  • IT and digital skills - competent in Microsoft Office and advanced skills in agency or retailer specific software (e.g. Nielsen Answers, Dunnhumby, Kantar Worldpanel Online)
Required experience is

• Graduate calibre
• At least 2 years' experience in an insights/research role in an FMCG environment, either client-side or agency-side

Essential qualifications are

• Bachelors Degree - Qualified

Physical and other requirements

• Prepared to travel within the UK, Ireland and other key markets within Europe, including occasional overnight stays
• You will have the flexibility to work out of office hours to accommodate the occasional call with our Australian colleagues and have the ability to travel to our Accolade Park site near Bristol if required.
