Workshop Engineer

UniCarriers have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Engineer to join their team in Thame, Oxfordshire. Working on a full-time, permanent basis the successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of GBP27,000 per annum.

Key responsibilities

As our Workshop Engineer you will act as a key member of the team by carrying out planned maintenance, modifications and repairs on a range of handling machinery/forklift trucks. You will have the following duties and responsibilities:

- Performing repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance of forklift truck equipment

- Perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault diagnosis carrying out subsequent repairs in a time and cost-effective manner

- Completion of documentation to company standards

Skills and Experience

Our ideal Workshop Engineer will be an analytical thinker who produces highly precise, accurate work, is well organised and works well with others as well as the ability to work on their own initiative.

You ideally will have worked with material handling products before; however, we are open to considering candidates from other backgrounds such as: Agricultural, Armed Forces such as REME, Automotive, Construction Equipment, HGV, LGV, Plant, Access Hire or Roadside.

Skills and experience needed as our Workshop Engineer:

- A full driving licence

- In-depth mechanical experience including strong excellent servicing and fault-finding skills

- Good electrical knowledge

- Experience of hydraulics and electrical equipment an advantage, however training will be provided as required.

- The ability to manage and prioritise workloads

- Completion of documentation to company standards
