Senior Security Analyst - Threat & Intelligence
Salary - GBP38,083 - GBP40,299 per annum
Glasgow City centre
G4 - Permanent.

What's the job?

Student loans Company is looking for a Senior Security Analyst to join us on a permanent basis.

The Senior Security Analyst sits within the Technology Group - Security team focused on ensuring that SLC technical infrastructure at all levels and all stored data is fully safeguarded against malicious attack through monitoring, alerting and responding.

Job Purpose:

  • Take an active role in the organisational "First Response" capability for security incidents at all levels to minimise the impact of cyber and internal threats.

  • Assist in the identification, resolution and documentation of security incidents.

  • Ensure that evidence is gathered using sound processes and techniques to preserve integrity.

  • Management of the penetration test process, including scoping of tests and working with relevant internal and external stakeholders to schedule tests.

  • Working proactively with internal and external stakeholders to remediate discovered vulnerabilities and communicating these back in non-technical business language.

  • Tracking remediation of identified vulnerabilities.

  • Assess technical security risks in terms of impact to systems and confidentiality, integrity & availability.

  • Monitor the changing threat landscape to identify and report emerging threats and issues; Assess the impact of emerging vulnerabilities and manage teams to co-ordinate appropriate remedial actions.

  • Co-ordinate and participate in intelligence sharing forums and committees.

  • Proactively utilise threat intelligence feeds to enhance security defences and toolsets.

  • Liaise with managed SOC service to ensure operational processes and hand-offs are clear and an effective service is achieved.

  • Active sponsor of continuous process and service improvement in relation to Security Matters.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to adjacent teams and team members.

  • Producing all required management information and reporting.

How to Apply?

It is essential you have a strong background in Cyber and Information Security, knowledge of industry standards and guidelines and the ability to communicate technical security standards to other technical teams and mediate in any conflicts between security policy and technical implementations.
