Role & Responsibilities

You will form part of a Networks team within IT, where you'll be required to support and assist with the delivery of IT Services.

  • Incident management and resolution across the business's IT server Infrastructure
  • Administration, Monitoring and optimisation of corporately managed Linux Servers and their associated services including system backup and DR policies and procedures.
  • Undertake System Management and Administration across all systems within Platforms Services remit.
  • Reviewing and acting on service desk calls and completing work assigned by line manager.
  • Production and management of IT Operations documentation to current standards.
  • Administration, monitoring and development of corporately managed messaging services including but not limited to Microsoft Exchange and Skype for Business software.
  • Lead the evaluation and installation of new software releases, system upgrades, and system patches
  • Compliance with security policies and requirements and active configuration and maintenance of security standards across Group IT technologies
  • Comply with configuration control requirements
  • Maintain a Configuration Record of all systems deployed.
  • Assist with the deployment and analysis of new technologies and enhancements to existing systems
  • Ensure relevant system/service documentation is full and complete and communicate any shortfalls to colleagues and line management. Pro-actively identify candidates for 'Pre-Approved' Changes.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of Disaster Recovery capabilities

Skills & Experience

You will be able to provide suitable experience of some of the below:

  • Knowledge and experience in administering Linux Operating Systems including CentOS and Red Hat.
  • Knowledge in FTP, SFTP, NTP, DNS, Nagios
  • Knowledge of email, anti-spam, anti-virus, DMARC, DKIM and SPF.
  • Experience of Shell and Python Scripting.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Knowledge of, DHCP, Active Directory other domain service functions
  • Knowledge of VMWare ESX/vSphere administration.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise level storage solutions
  • A clear understanding of IT Security Standards in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in backup technologies
