Role: Conventional Machinist
Location: Dudley
Shift time: 07:30 - 16:00 Monday - Thursday / 07:30 - 15:30 Friday
Pay Rate: GBP9.50 Per Hour
We are currently seeking an experienced Manual Machinist on behalf of a well-established Stainless Pipe and Fittings business based in the Dudley are. Main duties of the role will include setting and operating conventional Lathes, and Milling machines for the machining of stainless fittings and pipework for the Pharmaceutical, Dairy, Food and Brewing industries.
Duties of the role:
* Accurately machine component parts from various grades of stainless steel using manual centre lathes and other milling and drilling machines
* Accurately interpret manufacturing drawings to produce bespoke components for customer order
* Develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to complete the manufacturing requirements of the role.
* Safely utilise all equipment to machine to customer requirements
* Inspect own work and identify errors prior to passing to next section
* Work with team members to create a smooth workflow across the shop floor
* Develop an understanding and the practical application of materials handling
* Undertake any new skills and training where required
* Support any manufacturing projects initiated by the Manufacturing Manager
* Undertake other duties as requested by the Managing Director
Candidate Requirements:
* Be a team player
* Flexible
* Be punctual and have an excellent attendance record
* Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail
* Willing to learn and to take instruction
* Show initiative and willingness to assist others in general tasks
* Ability to read manufacturing and interpret drawings
* Centre Lathe experience
Hours of work:
* 07:30 - 16:00 Monday - Thursday / 07:30 - 15:30 Friday
* Pay Rate: GBP9.50 Per hour
