You will manage and coordinate a service ensuring the effective and prioritised deployment of resources to deliver contract management, commissioning, commercial activity and business improvement/development. The role holder will be responsible for managing the highways structures and bridges contract. You will also assess all bridge inspections undertaken as part of the structures contract and will review any necessary or appropriate maintenance improvement schemes that are recommended. The role holder will then prioritise and procure the maintenance improvements and will ensure they are delivered in accordance with the agreed specification and cost. We are looking for individuals ideally with a highways and contract management background and experience in dealing with contractors and stakeholders within a local government environment. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills; a track record of building effective partnerships and working with senior managers and Elected Members. The candidate will hold a relevant technical qualification in the area of Structural Engineering / Civil Engineering and/or appropriate experience of contract management. Membership of a relevant Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering body.
