This exciting position will enable the successful candidate the opportunity to build on strong relationships in Key Accounts within the Biotech/BioPharma Sector.
We have a rare job opening with a unique opportunity to work with some of the most cutting-edge products within biotechnology to support our clients customers achieve their research demands in an expanding market. Ideally with an established sales track record within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, you will have a deep technical understanding in this area and be an innovative thinker who can demonstrate a strong customer centric ethos with first class communication skills.
This dynamic and fast paced position is permanent and will be centralised in the Cambridge area predominantly with some wider UK travel needed on an occasional basis. It will suit someone with a passion and drive for results who is an excellent networker and will be able to utilise their connections to win, develop and retain business.

Key responsibilities:
Work to identify and drive Biotech specific sales opportunities and actively promote core products and value-added services to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan
Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the sales positioning and value proposition of the client, and its products specific to the Biotech market segment. Using this knowledge, effectively leverage the strengths of the portfolio to maximise commercial opportunities
Develop and maintain an effective territory plan to support achieving and exceeding the assigned sales plan. Drive sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within the assigned territory. Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet and exceed sales and marketing objectives
Contact and reply to all research scientists and key stakeholders on all accounts via email and telephone to deliver relevant sales presentations and information through visits daily
Accurately forecasting revenues
Participate in sales, product and systems training, marketing campaigns, special projects as presented by the company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with company philosophy, policies, and procedures
Host and represent the company at trade shows within assigned accounts or relevant associations
Setup and coordinate technical seminars by internal customers such as Marketing and/or Technical sales Specialist within assigned accounts and relevant associations on a frequent basis
Maintain and develop existing commercial relationships and manage customer database through company customer relation's management software (Salesforce CRM)
Utilise data sources to analyse and capitalise on territory opportunities with greatest ROI. Communicate key competitive activities, trends and changing customer development plans and priorities
Regularly provide written and verbal communication of successes, failures, best practices, to improve the overall operating efficiency of the territory, team, and sales organisation
Manage pricing within territory to control profitability
Coordinate and prepare quotations within company guidelines as needed to maintain and increase revenues with guidance from Management and/or Marketing
Support marketing initiatives to facilitate exceeding revenue targets.
Manage and close sales leads generated by colleagues in Marketing and Technical Support
Working with initiative on your own to consistently meet targets and deadlinesExperience/Qualifications/Qualities:
Ideally a PhD within Life Sciences required, minimum BSc with lab experience
A strong background in cell culture and protein biology is preferred
Proven sales track record in similar industry is advantageous
Experience of Scientific Life Science Products is helpful
Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills. Must be fluent in English
Strong capabilities to interact effectively with stakeholders at al levels within an organisation
Ability to function effectively in a high performance team
Ability to manage time effectively to prioritise and complete tasks required
Demonstrate a positive can do attitude and desire to succeed
Exhibits a high degree of flexibility in adapting to a rapidly changing business environment
Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or similar programs required
A UK Driving License is mandatoryWhere you will work:
Aligned to the nature of the role, you will reside within or very close to the assigned territory (Cambridge) and can anticipate being in the field 4 days/week on average. When not in the field, you will be based remotely from home
The primary functional objective of the position is for direct face to face contact with customers, to initiate and develop relationships, which will ultimately generate sales.
