York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust undertakes Procurement services for a number of the Trust's locations and for York Hospitals Facilities Management LLP. We are looking to recruit for the role of Senior Buyer within the Medical & Surgical Team.

The introduction of the Department of Health Operating Model, part of the Government's strategic response to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness across the NHS, makes it an exciting time to be in procurement . In order to maximise the benefits of the operating model, we are seeking a motivated individual with flair and commitment and excellent communication skills to join our team, forging and supporting robust relationships between service users and suppliers.

The post holder will have a level of experience, professional knowledge and the ability and skills to:

  • procure goods and services;
  • effectively manage their time;
  • ensure projects and procurement run to plan whilst representing value for money and supporting safe, effective and sustainable healthcare.

We are seeking someone who can work within a team or independently to resolve problems and influence, persuade and motivate others to make sure every penny counts.

You will be based at York; however, their will sometimes be travel between all our sites when required during the working week.
