We are looking for a Court Reporter to join our successful YorkshireLive team. In the role you will work alongside our current court writer to ensure this key element of a fair and just society remains firmly in the public domain, helping us to have a positive impact on the local communities we serve.
We're looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content. Key Responsibilities
What will the role involve?
You will find and tell stories about local communities- You will be an authority on court coverage, providing legally safe content
- You will build communities online and in real life to share stories with once published, and engaged with readers about those stories
- You will tell stories in many different ways, including (but not limited to) real-time live blogs, article format, video, audio and pictures
The Ideal Candidate
What are we looking for?
- You will be NCTJ qualified (or equivalent)
- You will have a Media Law qualification and complete a law refresher every 12 months
- You will be confident across all forms of social media and will have a track record of building communities across these
We want you to be passionate about digital storytelling in local journalism - You will also need digital publishing skills for this role
- A driving licence is preferable for this role
