Your purpose (in a nutshell)Based at either the Inbound or Outbound Gatehouse you will use the Yard Management System to book in trailers or book out trailers. You will also assist in maintaining the accuracy of the Yard and covering for the Yard Marshals when required. You will be accountable for:Booking trailers into the Hub using the Yard Management System. Undertaking full yard checks in line with the required standards and at the required intervals whilst on shift. Working with the Yard Marshals to ensure the accuracy of the yard and specifically that all trailers and contents are correct and in line with SLA's. Managing queries from Shunters regarding trailers in the YardDirecting trailers to and from the correct bays.Ensuring that all required reporting documentation/manifests are managed and maintained to the required standard and timescales.Communicating any issues and daily performance to the Yard Controller.Logging any damage to vehicles and liaising with the Transport Shift Managers.Ensuring that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.Following correct processes to ensure the correct loads are attached to the correct trailers.Monitoring all yard movements and bringing any discrepancies or problems to the Yard Controller's attention.Ensuring that all H&S and hygiene requirements are adhered to in the Gatehouse and Yard whilst on shift.Attending regular 121's and performance reviews with the Hub, Systems & Yard Manager and attending Team Meetings as and when required.Supporting the Control Room in the delivery of excellent operational standards.Leading by example in creating a professional and positive work environment.
