Here at Hamilton Barnes we are a Recruitment Consultancy that focuses on recruiting Networking & Fibre specialists in the UK and Europe. We are currently recruiting Splicing Engineers to join a leading Multi Utilities Contractor in Loughton.

Role
* As a Fibre Splicing Engineer, you be directly responsible for testing the overhead and underground fibre networks. You will be building PONS on the Openreach FTTP rollout.
Responsibilities
* Having previous experience with various splice closures
* Being able to operate an optical power meter & OTDR for Testing/Fault finding
* Prepare and splice fibre optic cables
* Understanding test results for troubleshooting
* Ensuring a high standard is maintained whilst working on the Openreach network
* The installation of fibre cables, blowing fibre tubing, the use of fibre blowing equipment, being able to fault find
* Splicing and testing of external optical fibres to the end customer premise
* Adherence with Health and Safety legislation
* Working towards KPI's
Experience / Requirements
* A good understanding and practical experience in Fibre splicing and network build
* Knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure and FTTP PON Build, OFN (one fibre network )
* Previous Openreach Network Experience would be an advantage.
* A responsibility to ensure all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to
* The ability and desire to work as part of a team but be focused on individual goals
* A Full/clean driving license is essential.
* NOPS (Network Operative Passport Scheme ) card will be desirable.
* Openreach accreditations such as N23, M23 will be desirable
Salary / Benefits
* Salary is up to GBP40,000 per annum
* 25 days holidays + 9 Public Holidays
