Objective HR are recruiting for a leading accountancy practice based in Godalming who are seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have experience of providing detailed and outstanding quality bookkeeping services to a portfolio of clients. Previous experience of Xero, Quickbooks and Sage is also advantageous. The key aim of the role is to provide an outstanding and professional service to thier clients .
The Role:
* Provide full bookkeeping services to portfolio of clients
* Maintain client monthly/quarterly bookkeeping so that VAT returns can be filed by deadline including but not limited to sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank and VAT reconciliations, preparation of VAT returns, ECSL returns and CIS returns with use of Xero, Quickbooks and Sage
* Preparation of management accounts
* Assisting clients with bookkeeping and year end queries
* Ensuring that work is completed within the agreed budget and timescale, ensure the account manager is updated on progress.
* Other tasks as reasonably required to ensure the smooth running of the job and department
* Prepared to travel and work occasionally at clients site and if required
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice (required)
* AAT qualified/part-qualified (preferable)
* Knowledge of Xero, Quickbooks and Sage
* Ability to build strong relationships with new and established clients
* Excellent IT skills including good use of Excel
* Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload
* Good attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Flexibility to assist with some general administration
