School Science Technician
Type of School: Secondary, Mainstream
Start Date: October 2020
Type of Role: Temporary to Permanent
Location: Kendal, Cumbria
Vida Education are looking to appoint a Science Technician to assist teaching staff and students learning through efficient and effective organisation/maintenance of materials and equipment within the Science department.
As a Science Technician in the School, you will be required to assist in the science areas as required and where appropriate use ICT.
This post is to start in October 2020 on a temporary to permanent basis.
We are interested in hearing from Science Technicians who have school based experience or have previous industry experience.
The Role:
** 5 days a week
** Core hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm (Can be flexible)
** Providing assistance to teachers and pupils
** Maintenance of Stock Chemicals
** Health & Safety procedures in laboratories
** Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
** First Aid - willingness to be trained as a First Aider
The School:
** Ofsted 'Good'
** Understands the importance of Work/Life balance
** Successful and Supportive School
** Positive atmosphere
In order to be considered for this post, you will need to:
* Good general education up to at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
* Laboratory/Scientific qualification
* Minimum of 1 years relevant experience
* A DBS Certificate (or be willing to apply of one)
