We are currently seeking an experienced Buyer with an understanding of fast-moving, manufacturing environments. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, reputable company, which can offer long term career and development opportunities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Raise PO with approved suppliers with consideration for lead times & inventory levels
* Arrange deliveries of Vendor Managed Inventory in line with the master production schedule
* Liaise with suppliers with regards to quality control
* Pursuing credits
* Maintain supplier performance standards
* Process new product enquiries, obtaining raw material samples from suppliers & costings
* Checking supplier invoices are accurate
* Monitor category spend, conducting competitor market research & benchmarking
* Conduct regular supplier performance reviews
* All other ad hoc administrative duties such as ordering stationary, distribution of mail, franking etc.
You will also be required to provide cover in the absence of the Planner (during holidays and sickness), undertaking additional duties such as:
* Monitor and forecast stock of raw materials and finished goods
* Ensure all production demands are raised within the internal computer systems & works and PO are produced
* Stock control, including maintaining system-based stock transactions, stock transfers, stock issues, production output & goods received
* Create and maintain data for SKU coding, pricing & lead times
To be considered for this role you must be IT proficient, including a good knowledge of Microsoft applications. MRP experience is also beneficial.
