We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to effectively sample a range of building materials based out of our Frome site.
About the role
Your role is to safely and effectively sample, test and report results of all sand, aggregate and bituminous products produced or consumed in the operating Area in accordance with the relevant EN Specifications, Company Internal Management Systems, Environmental and Health & Safety Policies.
Elements to the role include:
* Carry out all duties in accordance with instructions in strict compliance with the requirements of the Company Health & Safety Policy
* Ensure work within the Laboratory is carried out in a safe manner and the premises are maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times
* Operate in accordance with and maintain compliance with the technical procedures in the Company Quality Management System
* Ensure the sampling and testing of all aggregate, sands, gravels, incoming raw materials and bituminous materials are carried out at the required frequency identified in the Company Quality
* Management System procedures in full compliance with BS EN Standards
* Report all instances of product or test rate failure to technical management
* Input all data and operate the laboratory computer database system as directed by the technical management
* Report all instances of non-conformities to the technical line management immediately
* Assist with the monitoring of analysis and trends following testing of materials and finished products to ensure appropriate preventative action has been taken to ensure quality and technical performance is maintained
* Carry out preliminary complaint investigations
* Ensure the laboratory environment and test equipment is well maintained and within calibration in accordance with the requirements of the Company Quality Management System and associated Testing Standards
* Provide technical advice and support to other internal departments as and when required
* Provide technical support to customers within set guidelines
