An exciting opportunity for an experienced UX Writer to join one of Manchester's most exciting ecommerce brands who are about to launch a new digital platform. They're the point of building out Product & UX teams for each part of the platform, and the UX Writers will work with these squads to produce content working in an agile way.

The business has been going from strength to strength and are continuing to recruit and onboard the best talent in the area, and you'll have the opportunity to really help shape the next phase of their ground-breaking platform.

what you'll be working on

The UX Writers work on the end-to-end journey of our services to help users complete their goals. Your work may involve the development of content with multiple product teams across digital and offline channels. You will be expected to:

  • Ensure appropriate content is shown to users in the right place and in the best format
  • Work closely with UX Designers, UX Researchers, Product Owners and Engineers. They're looking for the following skills for this role, although the level of expertise for each will vary, depending on the role level.

Agile collaborative working. You're familiar with agile methodologies and can apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work. You are a strong team player and are comfortable managing work from multiple teams, prioritising your own workload accordingly. You understand when to support and coach teams and when to step in and do the work yourself. You can work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery. You can balance the need for consistent content but will be comfortable taking risks and working without multiple sign-offs.

Stakeholder relationship management. You can communicate with stakeholders clearly and regularly, clarifying mutual needs and commitments. For example, you'll need to work with our marketing/brand teams to ensure tone of voice and content is connected across all customer touch points.

User focus. Your primary concern will be the user, empathetically understanding who they are and what their needs are, based on evidence. You can translate user stories and propose design approaches appropriate for the needs of our specific users. You'll care about demystifying the world of the sector for their users.

User-centred content design. You can design content to meet user needs and make complex language and processes easy to understand. You can understand and implement style and standards.

Although you'll collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure tone is aligned, this role is not a marketing role. This is a role to produce content for the platform they are creating, so experience in this area is a must.

The role is based in Manchester City Centre, however the team don't plan to go back to the office until next year, and are working on a hybrid model of 2 days in. Really happy to speak to people outside the Manchester area who are planning to move this way or can make the journey a couple of times a week from 2021. Feel free to get in touch
