Mencap are recruiting for a Prospect Research and Philanthropy Officer to join our Fundraising Team. This is a full time (37.5 hrs per week) and will be based at our Centre of Engagement in Central London, but home based until it is safe to return to offices.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an outgoing and personable individual who is looking to take their next step in philanthropy fundraising.

As the Prospect Researcher you'll be joining a friendly and experienced team, and will play a vital role in helping us to reach our ambitious targets by supporting the team to grow income from major donors, and trust and foundations.

You will be identifying and researching new prospects for both the support and influence of high value gifts. Also key to this role is the development and implementation of a prospect research strategy to ensure a steady flow of qualified prospects into the Philanthropy team pipeline.

As the Prospect Researcher you will be a diligent, confident, creative and enthusiastic professional with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast pace environment, think outside the box and sustain an acute attention to detail. You will also work well as part of a team and have experience of cross departmental collaboration; working within the wider fundraising team to explore and build on networks.

Assisting the fundraising of both unrestricted and restricted income, you will play a key role in securing vital funds to enable Mencap to continue delivering life changing work for people with a learning disability, their families and carers.

If you are passionate about changing the lives of those with a learning disability and are looking for a rewarding challenge where you have a team that are dedicated to supporting your personal progression, then this is the role for you!

At Mencap, we value a diverse and inclusive workplace and we intentionally plan for the success of our colleagues in everything we do. We welcome applications from everyone, so come as you are and join us. Together we are Mencap!

Please apply with an up-to-date CV and covering letter.

This role will close on Tuesday 6th October and interview will commence shortly after via Microsoft Teams.
